How to get rid of cellulite

Cellulite rarely ever affects men, but 90% of women will have to deal with cellulite at one point or another in their lifetime. Not only does cellulite affect obese women, but thin women are also affected by it.

Cellulite is a formation of fat cells that have accumulated underneath the skin. The body naturally stores toxins away in fat cells away from the vital organs of the body. Underneath the layers of the skin is the perfect place for the body to compress those toxic fat cells. They usually appear as dimples in areas, such as the thighs, buttocks, and stomach. If you pinch the skin and see little dimples you can know that you have cellulite. In severe cases the dimples are highly visible regardless of whether or not you pinch the skin.

Cellulite is known to be caused by age, stress, environmental factors, puberty, pregnancy, menopause and while on birth control. Smoking, unhealthy fats, salts, sugar, carbohydrates, cooked food, dehydration, and not enough fibers are also contributing factors. Sitting or standing for long periods of time can worsen the appearance of cellulite.

According to medical professionals there is no long term cure for cellulite.

Liposuction, which is a surgery that removes fat cells from underneath the skin does not work. It is a dangerous and expensive procedure that can temporarily remove the dimpling, however, because it does not target the root of the problem, the results are not permanent.

Expensive medications, creams or massages may also help temporarily by masking the unsightly dimples. As soon as the treatment wears off, however, the dimples return.

But Wait, There Is A Cure!

Despite the fact that conventional medicine does not have a cure, there is a cure for cellulite. And the good news is that you do not have to endure an expensive surgical procedure or take any type of drugs. You can do it naturally without any cost and keep the cellulite off forever!

First we need to understand what causes these unsightly dimples to appear. We need to understand that it is not the result of overeating, although it will affect it as well. But it is mainly the result of eating the wrong kind of foods. Eating the wrong foods, such as unhealthy fats, salts, sugars, carbohydrates and processed foods, deprive the body of the necessary nutrients needed to expel the incoming toxins before the body has a chance to tuck them away in fat cells under the layers of the skin.

Fiber is one of these important substances that individuals with cellulite often lack. Although fiber does not provide any real nutritional value, it does however, clean the digestive tract so that other nutrients can be absorbed more efficiently. Its real benefit for cellulite is that as it makes its way through the digestive tract it picks up all the harmful toxins that would otherwise remain inside the digestive tract or get reabsorbed into the body.

If the toxins are allowed to remain inside the digestive tract they block the absorption of vital nutrients, and if they are reabsorbed into the body they are likely to get tucked away in fat cells. An accumulation of fat cells slows down the blood circulation. Blood circulation is very important because not only does blood transport vital nutrients, but it also cleanses the body at a deep cellular level. If the blood is unable to get through efficiently, those toxins are likely to remain in the body where they cause unwanted weight gain and cellulite.

The bottom line is this: to stop cellulite from happening or to cure it, all we need to do is stop toxifying and start detoxifying our bodies.

This means to avoid or at least reduce the intake of all animal proteins, which contain unhealthy fats, as well as anything processed, cooked, baked or fried.

Eat lots of fruits, vegetables and nuts. In other words, eat a raw plant-based diet! All the raw foods will provide the body with the proper fibers and fluids to start cleaning the body from the inside out. Blood circulation will improve and gradually more and more toxins will be removed. Eventually the fat cells will have no choice but to disappear.

It is important to remain well hydrated because fluids help to wash the body from the inside out. If the body is dehydrated, there are fewer fluids travelling through, which means that the toxins are not being washed out and allowed to build up inside the body. Buy an inexpensive Juicer and drink fresh juices every day. Drink lots of water and, or herbal tea.

The drinks to avoid are alcoholic drinks, sodas, coffee and other caffeinated drinks as they are known to dehydrate the body.

Another important tip is to make sure to get lots of Vitamin C. Vitamin C acts as a powerful antioxidant that helps the body to expel harmful toxins naturally. It is found in abundance in citrus fruits.

Exercise regularly; even just a short walk every day will do. This will increase the blood circulation.

Massaging the area will also increase the blood flow and even make the cellulite disappear for short periods.

The downfall of getting rid of cellulite naturally is that you won't see any results overnight. It is a long term process, which can take up to 4-6 weeks to even start seeing some minor results. It takes much longer than that to get rid of all the cellulite. Depending on the severity of the cellulite and the amount of discipline that you have to stay on the strict diet, it can take up to a year if not longer for it to disappear completely.

So true about foods - I lived in S. Korea, and this is a community where hot spas are very common and everyone of every age uses them - and they are quite affordable. Korean women have no body shame and not one has cellulite - and this is at every age! Not one!

But then they don't have the 'western diet' like we do which is filled with fatty dairy foods and meat, GM foods, heavily processed foods and junk. They are very health conscious, eat as fresh as possible, in season and locally grown. They simply do not have the cellulite or obesity issues that we do. Oh and no need for ovens - as that kills food just as you memtioned.

Nice to meet you by the way! I'm enjoying your hubs!

TheListLady, It's nice to meet you too! You know it's sad but a lot of people do not realize that the western diet is what is causing all their health problems. But I am happy to see that people are slowly beginning to see the truth...one by one.

Thanks for stopping by!

I never knew that adding fiber could help with cellulite. All I hear is "cut out fatty meats." Thanks for adding a piece to the puzzle.

Yeah fiber is really good for cleaning away the bad stuff so that the fat cells can leave the body.
