The Health Benefits of Juicing

Juicing is a method of extracting the liquids from the fiber of fruits and vegetables in order to enjoy the juice as a refreshing and nourishing drink. Naturally, fruit juices are more favorable than vegetable juices, as they offer a sweeter taste compared to the bitterness of most vegetable juices. Nonetheless, both juices can offer up numerous health benefits when consumed on a regular basis.

The human body requires at least 1 pound of vegetables for every 50 pounds of body weight. That's a lot of vegetables and most people don't find the time to eat that many. But with juicing it makes it fast and easy to consume the daily requirements.

Also, when juicing one tends to use a larger variety of vegetables—some which most wouldn't consume otherwise. Therefore juicing is a great way to obtain the necessary vitamins and minerals.

Detoxifies the Blood and Liver

The juice does not pass through the digestive system but rather it goes straight into the bloodstream where it cleans the liver and blood. A clean liver is essential, as it has many functions in the body such as cleaning the blood, producing certain blood plasma and bile, and breaking down fats and removing wastes from the body.

All the nutrients are absorbed immediately, and they work together to increase the metabolism, which increases energy levels and helps in weight loss. Fresh juices when combined with a healthy diet can help to get rid of cellulite faster than any other food or drink.

Restores Nutrients

Freshly made juices contain many beneficial vitamins and minerals, live enzymes and antioxidants, which the body is able to absorb in much larger quantities from juicing. Live enzymes are important, as they help in the manufacturing of other nutrients such as vitamin B12 and EPA and DHA. These are nutrients that can only be obtained from animal proteins, and thus it is important for the body to be able to create its own when animal proteins are avoided.

Minerals are essential in helping to build strong bones and teeth, and green juices are loaded with strong bone building minerals.

Anti-Aging

The antioxidants that juicing provides the body with help to remove toxins and free radicals that contribute to signs of aging such as wrinkling of the skin, sore and stiff muscles, memory loss and many age related diseases such as Alzheimer’s and cancer.

Juicing can also help to reverse serious diseases such as cancer, as done by the Gerson Institute in Tijuana Mexico.

Alkalizing

Juicing has an alkalizing effect on the body, as it helps to neutralize harmful acids. Research shows that an acidic body is more susceptible to become ill with the common cold and other diseases such as cancer, diabetes, fibromyalgia and many others.

Great for Skin

Fresh juice helps to clean the body from the inside out. This means that it helps to open up the pores in the skin in order to prevent black heads and acne. These blemishes can be embarrassing and may often contribute to low self-esteem and/or social anxiety disorders.

How to Make Juice

All that is needed in order to make fresh juice is lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and herbs, as well as a juicer. An expensive juicer will usually yield a higher amount of juice from the fruits and vegetables. But a cheaper juicer such as a Hamilton Beach Juicer is perfect for those just starting their juicing adventures.
