What Causes Body Odor

Sweat and Body Odor

Body odor is widely associated with sweating because every time we sweat we tend to develop body odor. But did you know that body odor is not caused by sweating, and that sweat by itself is actually odorless?

So then what causes body odor to occur, if it is not sweat?

The answer is simple, sweat only brings out what is already on the inside of the body. If we have a lot of toxins built up on the inside, they will cause body odor to occur once they are brought out through the surface of the skin. These toxins are the number one cause of all diseases. Therefore, sweating is actually good for you because the more you sweat, the more toxins will be released.

Sweat Glands

The body has two different types of sweat glands: the Eccrine glands and the Apocrine glands.

The main purpose of the Eccrine glands are to keep the body cool during hot summer days, or when exercising. These glands are located all over the body, and the sweat produced from these glands is usually odorless.

The Apocrine glands are located mainly in the armpits and groin areas and do not begin to function until puberty is reached. Their main purpose in these areas is to bring out the harmful toxins that are within the body. This is why the sweat coming from the armpits produces a stronger odor.

Toxins

So then the next question is, what causes the body to become toxic, and can we stop these toxins from entering our bodies?

The toxins enter the body by the foods we eat, and yes we can stop the majority of toxins from entering our body simply by eliminating certain types of foods.

The foods you want to eliminate are all animal proteins, such as dairy and dairy products, meat, and poultry. Red meat in excess amounts is one of the primary causes of bad body odor. Studies have revealed that the sweat produced by the Apocrine glands is high in protein; this protein is the excess protein from red meat which our body does not need.

Other foods that are high in toxins are processed foods, fast foods, refined sugar, and some cooked foods can be toxic as well.

By eliminating the toxic foods from our diet and replacing them with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and nuts and seeds, we can get rid of body odor, once and for all.

Natural Body Deodorizers

Did you know that a plant-based diet acts as a natural body deodorizer? Not only can we eliminate body odor, but we can also throw out all of our harmful body deodorizers such as deodorants, antiperspirants, and body sprays, for we will no longer need them.

Most deodorants contain aluminum, which is a heavy metal, and when applied will make its way into the bloodstream and cause many diseases, such as cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

Antiperspirants block the pores so that the body is unable to sweat; thus trapping all the harmful toxins within the body where they eventually will cause many diseases.

So what do you do, should you just stop using deodorants? Yes, stop using deodorants and antiperspirants altogether; you can use a natural deodorant crystal, baking soda, or vinegar and shower frequently until the toxins are eliminated. More importantly, you must stop putting more toxins into the body; the less you put in, the less your body has to eliminate.

The quickest way to get rid of body odor and toxins is by going on a juice fast to detoxify, and depending on how many toxins are in your body you could get rid of body odor within a week or so. But if you are very toxic it could take longer and you might have to do several juice fasts.

In between juice fasting stick to a raw plant-based diet, which will naturally deodorize your body from the inside out. Sprouts are also very helpful for detoxifying your body.

You should also drink lots of fluids and promote sweating by exercising, taking a hot bath, or using a sauna.
