How to Lose Weight Fast

The best and healthiest way to lose weight is to take your time and do it slow, allowing your body to adjust to the new diet and lifestyle changes gradually. However, in some cases you might need to lose weight fast in order to get ready for an event, or you just want to look good.

Just remember that when you lose weight fast, that the weight is prone to creep up on you again. Therefore, it is important that you not only focus on losing weight, but that you also change your lifestyle and diet so that you can keep that weight off in the long run. Here are some ways on how you can lose weight fast, without a weight loss program and keep that weight off for good.

Eliminate Junk and Processed Foods

Junk and processed foods are most likely what caused you to gain weight in the first place. Therefore, by eliminating those foods from your diet you can begin to reduce your weight almost immediately. These foods include packaged foods; anything pre-wrapped, frozen, canned, bottled and boxed. Fast foods are also highly processed and thus should be eliminated.

What is so bad about these foods? The thing with these foods is that they have no valuable nutrients that the body can use. Rather, they are loaded with sugar, sweeteners, preservatives, food colorants (to make the foods look attractive), and many other food additives that are unnatural to the human body. Anything that is not natural is not compatible with the human body, which means that the body does not know what to do with it. As a result, the body often tucks those harmful substances, also known as toxins, away in fat cells. Not only does this contribute to weight gain, but to many other diseases as well.

Therefore, in order to lose weight fast, it is important that these substances be eliminated from the diet completely. At the same time, however, it is important to listen to the body and not overdo it as that could result in severe detox symptoms, including headaches, emotional upsets and fatigue.

Reduce Animal Proteins

Did you know that red meat is directly linked to obesity? This is due to the high amounts of saturated fats that red meat contains. Other meats, dairy and dairy products as well as eggs are also high in harmful saturated fats that can make you gain weight. Therefore, you should eliminate, or at least reduce the amount that you consume of those products.

All the nutrients that you can obtain from those animal products can be obtained from a plant-based diet. Nuts and seeds as well as avocados contain all the healthy oils and proteins that you can obtain from meat and eggs; and dark green vegetables and nuts and seeds contain more usable calcium than what you can obtain from milk.

But what about vitamin B12? The answer is simple. If you eliminate all the junk foods that are poisonous to your body, and stick with a clean diet, then your digestive system will remain clean, and full of healthy enzymes that are able create those vitamins for you. In addition, you can take supplements.

Eat Slow

Eating slow will help you to eat less as it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to realize that you are full and have eaten enough. Eating slow will also give you more time to chew your foods thoroughly to make it easier on your digestive system, which in turn helps you to lose weight.

Juice Fast

A juice fast is one of the fastest ways for you to lose weight with little or no exercise. Just remember though that you should take the time to prepare for the fast by eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables at least a week prior to the fast. This will make it easier on your body during the fast. And after the fast, it is crucial that you stick to a clean diet, or else the weight that you lost, will come back.

Raw Food Diet

Another great way to lose weight and to keep it off, is to go on the raw food diet. This is where you stop cooking, frying and baking the nutrients out of your foods. At first, the raw foods will not taste as great, but after a while the raw foods will help to revive your taste buds to the point where the raw foods will begin to taste better than any other food that you have ever had.

Trust me, once your tongue is used to raw foods, and then you sink your teeth into a burger from McDonalds, you will find it absolutely disgusting, as you can taste the staleness of the burger.

The raw food diet is high in fiber, which helps to improve your metabolism so that your foods can be digested, absorbed and eliminated faster from your body. This alone will give you much more energy, you will feel better, sleep better and be more relaxed to help you deal with stressful situations. But most importantly, the raw food diet helps you to lose unwanted weight, as well as prevent serious diseases from creeping up on you.

Exercise

Exercise is also a great way to help you to lose weight when you combine it with a healthy diet. It not only helps you to burn off fat cells, but moderate resistance training will help you to build muscle mass, which in turn also helps to burn off fat cells.

20 to 60 minutes, 3 to 5 times per week is all the exercise that you need in order to lose weight. Note that the more you exercise, the more you will lose. At the same time, however, you don’t want to exercise too much as that may have negative side effects.

Rest

In addition to exercise, it is also very important to allow the body and mind to receive plenty of rest and relaxation. Any type of negative stress, whether physical or emotional, can interfere with the weight loss process. Physical stress can hinder the detoxing process that is necessary in order for the weight to come off, and emotional stress can lead to overeating on comfort foods.

Meditation, a hot bath and getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night can help to keep the stress levels at minimum.

How To Keep It Off

After you have lost your weight, it is important to take a few steps in order to keep it off. This is especially true if you lost that weight fast because losing weight fast does not give the body a chance to fully adjust to the new changes going on. Therefore, you want to be even more careful as to what you eat and how much you eat in order to maintain your weight.

One of the most important keys is to never overeat. Even just one meal will throw you off track and your cravings will begin to come back. One way to avoid this is to eat slow and stop eating when you are about 80% full.

In order to keep the weight off, it is also important that continue doing what you did in order to lose that weight in the first place. Perhaps not to the same degree, but it should become a part of your diet. If you ran for 30 minutes every day in order to lose the weight, you might now be able to get away with 15 minutes a day or even every other day. If you did a juice fast, you might want to consider fasting for one day a week, or continue consuming fresh juice daily. And the list goes on.
